What were you doing St. Patrick’s Day four (five?) years ago? It was the day Frosty extemporaneously composed the Sponge Song. It was raining. I was driving to Target to buy something cool – like shampoo and gum.

And so it began…

What started out as a normal laugh, quickly progressed to laughing, crying, lack of oxygen, people staring, embarrassment, deep breaths, makeup adjusting, collapsed sighing, and sore ribs.

Oh, and the desire to do it all again.

So here’s my question for you guys.

What are you listening to that makes you laugh like that?

Is there anything? (Please don’t tell me Keith and the Girl.)

So I have super late meetings all week, but I don’t want to let the week go by without posting this.

And, unbelievably, the growth of the show pales in comparison to the personal growth of that Randall Epstein Wang. Suddenly he’s all confident and stuff – it’s kinda hot.

FHF Deconstructed

OK, I don’t understand why this show is so complicated. Or why Frosty, Heidi, and Frank can’t make up their minds. But I believe they want the best for the audience, the show, and themselves.

In other words, I think it comes from love. And love is complicated.

So remember when I wrote this? It’s OK, you don’t have to read it. I’ll just tell you that I predicted this announcement the day Tim Conway, Jr. walked out on that bodcast.

Yep. Tim will be replacing Bryan Suits on KFI 7-10pm starting January 18. Thank God.

The Bad Beginning

Or, how did we become the brand new Tom Leykis?

You know how certain things are burned forever into your memory? Even months or years later you can still remember exactly how you felt.

Maybe you’re a normal person and it’s events like graduating from college or getting married or having a baby. Or maybe (probably not) you’re like me and it’s the day Mr. KABC got fired, the day you read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the day you listened to Frosty, Heidi, and Frank’s last show on KLSX.

I will never forget Frank’s tearful (and drunk) speech near the end of the show when he declared he loved Frosty and Heidi more than he loved his own family. (And then blamed Tom Leykis for the station’s downfall.)

Like a cherry on a morose sundae…wait, what’s a morose sundae?

Like a black rose on Miss Havisham’s wedding cake, FHF then released a “special treat” for us. The SADDEST goodbye video ever!

Now let’s fast-forward through the next 11 months.

FHFU starts out as a low-end weekly podcast.

FHFU ramps up to a good daily podcast.

FHF get hired at KABC.

Frank promises to continue FHFU. Because he loves it, we love it, and he loves us.

Frosty quits FHFU.

Frank and Heidi vow to continue HFU. Because they love it, we love it, and they love us.

Vacation.

Frank and Heidi realize we don’t want FHFU without the first F.

Frank and Heidi quit FHFU. And they blame it on us.

Was Brian David Whitman doing a Regin Philbin impression this morning on KOLA? (Don’t worry, I’ve never heard of that station either.) I hope so. I’ve never been so concerned about the wellbeing of a person I’ve never met, but there you go.
